An 8-gene DNA methylation signature predicts the recurrence risk of cervical cancer.
Article in The Journal of international medical research, 2021. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 4 papers.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
objectiveThis study examined the predictive utility of DNA methylation for cervical cancer recurrence.
methodsDNA methylation and RNA expression data for patients with cervical cancer were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas. Differentially methylated genes (DMGs) and differentially expressed genes were screened and extracted
resultsAn eight-gene DNA methylation signature identified patients with a high risk of recurrence (area under the curve = 0.833). The SVM score was an independent risk factor for recurrence (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.418; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.26-0.67). The independent GEO database analysis further supported the result.
conclusionAn eight-gene DNA methylation signature predictive of cervical cancer recurrence was identified in this study, and this signature may help identify patients at high risk of recurrence and improve clinical treatment.
