Trial report in Frontiers in endocrinology, 2022. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. It is linked to trial NCT03103867 (Evaluation of Two Different Glucose Monitoring Treatments and Their Impact on Time in Target, Sleep and Quality of Life in Children With Type 1 Diabetes and Primary Caregivers.), which is not on this map. 1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Abstract

Objective: To compare glycemic control and treatment preference in children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) using sensor augmented pump (SAP) with predictive low glucose suspend (SmartGuard Methods: In this open label, cross-over study, children 6 to 14 years of age, treated with insulin pump for at least 6 months, were randomized to insulin pump and iscCGM ( Results: 31 children (15 girls) finished the study. With sensor compliance > 60%, no difference in TIT was found, TIT: Conclusions: In this study, no significant difference in glycemic control was found whether treated with SAP (SmartGuard Clinical Trial Registration: [clinicaltrials.gov], identifier NCT03103867.
