1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

purposeThe aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to evaluate the efficacy of stem cell therapy in mouse models of POI and patients with POI.

methodsThe PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase databases were searched from inception to February 2022 for relevant animal and clinical studies. The reference lists of the included reviews were manually searched to identify additional eligible studies. Data were independently extracted by two investigators, and disagreements were resolved by discussion. SYRCLE's risk of bias tool and the MINORS tool were used to assess the quality of animal and clinical studies by two independent investigators. All statistical analyses were conducted using Review Manager 5.3 software.

resultsA total of twenty animal studies and six clinical studies were included in this meta-analysis. In animal studies, the results showed that stem cells could improve hormone levels, follicle count, estrous cycle and pregnancy outcome. For hormone levels, stem cells increased serum E

conclusionThis meta-analysis suggested that stem cell therapy might be effective in POI mouse models and patients and could be considered a potential treatment to restore fertility capability in POI patients.
