1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

objectiveTo determine the expression of mitochondrial ribosomal protein L13 (MRPL13) in gastric cancer and its impact on long-term prognosis and explore the possible mechanism.

methodsWe analyzed MRPL13 expression level in gastric cancer and its association with the patients' prognosis based on the public cancer database the data of 100 gastric cancer patients undergoing radical gastrectomy in our hospital from January, 2014 to October, 2017. We further assessed the effects of MRPL13 overexpression and knockdown on proliferation and cell cycle of gastric cancer MGC-803 and SGC-7901 cells

resultsBoth bioinformatic analysis and the patients' data demonstrated that the expression level of MRPL13 was significantly higher in gastric cancer than in adjacent tissues (

conclusionMRPL13 is highly expressed in gastric cancer and affects the long- term prognosis of the patients possibly by inhibiting p53 signaling to promote cancer cell proliferation and cell cycle progression.
