Article in World journal of diabetes, 2023. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 7 papers, 1 of them a synthesis that pooled it.

1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

backgroundType 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease featured by insulin resistance (IR) and decreased insulin secretion. Currently, vitamin D deficiency is found in most patients with T2DM, but the relationship between vitamin D and IR in T2DM patients requires further investigation.

aimTo explore the risk factors of IR and the effects of vitamin D supplementation on glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with T2DM.

methodsClinical data of 162 T2DM patients treated in First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University between January 2019 and February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Based on the diagnostic criteria of IR, the patients were divided into a resistance group (

resultsNotable differences were observed in age and body mass index (BMI) between the resistance group and the non-resistance group (both

conclusionPatients with IR exhibit significant abnormalities in glucose and lipid metabolism parameters compared to the non-insulin resistant group. Logistic regression analysis revealed that 25(OH)D
