backgroundExtra virgin olive oil is a typical food of the Mediterranean area, obtained by pressing MATERIALS AND

methodsWe selected

resultsThis study showed that all the tested extracts can significantly inhibit cellular growth at 50 µM but the reduced proliferation is not related to an increase in cellular apoptosis. Instead, the same analysis performed by using extracts at 100 µM reveals that they can inhibit cellular growth, further inducing cellular apoptosis.
