1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

The proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) belongs to a member of the proprotein convertase (PC) family, which is mainly secreted by the liver and plays a central role in lipid metabolism. Furthermore, PCSK9 plays a multifunctional role in promoting the inflammatory response, inducing cell apoptosis and pyroptosis and affecting tumor homeostasis. The brain is the organ with the richest lipid content. Incidentally, PCSK9 increased in many brain diseases, including brain injury and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Consequently, the relationship between PCSK9 and brain diseases has attracted increasing research interest. Amyloid beta (Aβ) accumulation is the central and initial event in the pathogenesis of AD. This study focuses on the effects of PCSK9 on Aβ accumulation in the brain
