1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

objectiveThis double-blind randomized clinical trial assessed the effectiveness of 0.2% hyaluronic acid (HA) gel as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP) in patients with periodontitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), focusing on changes in clinical periodontal parameters, the expression of inflammatory mediators, and oral pathogens. MATERIALS AND

methodsThe randomized clinical trial involved 36 participants, 18 DM patients, and 18 healthy patients. The participants in each group were randomly assigned to receive placebo or HA gel after SRP. Gingival crevicular fluid and subgingival plaque samples were taken before treatment and at 4-week follow-up. Clinical parameters, interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-10 levels, and proportions of STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: Paired

resultsAt 4 weeks, most of the groups showed statistically significant decreases (

conclusionThe use of 0.2% HA gel into periodontal pockets alongside SRP, for both diabetic and healthy individuals, showed no statistically significant variances in clinical, biomolecular, and microbiological measures.
