1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Despite the identification of several dozen genetic loci associated with ischemic stroke (IS), the genetic bases of this disease remain largely unexplored. In this research we present the results of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) based on classical statistical testing and machine learning algorithms (logistic regression, gradient boosting on decision trees, and tabular deep learning model TabNet). To build a consensus on the results obtained by different techniques, the Pareto-Optimal solution was proposed and applied. These methods were applied to real genotypic data of sick and healthy individuals of European ancestry obtained from the Database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (5,581 individuals, 883,749 single nucleotide polymorphisms). Finally, 131 genes were identified as candidates for association with the onset of IS.
