Efficacy and exploratory analysis of potential mechanisms of stellate ganglion block in alleviating sleep disturbance in generalized anxiety disorder: a randomized controlled trial excluding comorbid depression.
Article in Frontiers in neurology, 2025. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 6 papers, 2 of them syntheses that pooled it.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of stellate ganglion block (SGB) in treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) with sleep disturbance, excluding patients with comorbid depression. Methods: This double-blind randomized controlled trial (RCT) enrolled 128 patients with GAD (Hamilton Anxiety Scale [HAMA] > 14, Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item Scale [GAD-7] ≥ 5) and sleep disturbance (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index [PSQI] ≥ 15), randomized to receive SGB ( Results: After 4 weeks, SGB demonstrated higher efficacy (98.4% vs. 89.1%, Conclusion: SGB effectively improves GAD symptoms and sleep quality in patients without comorbid depression, potentially via modulation of NE, 5-HT, and NPY pathways. The exclusion of psychiatric comorbidities enhances the specificity of these findings.
