Clinical significance of serum interleukin-4, interleukin-12, interleukin-13, and transforming growth factor-β levels in children with sleep-disordered breathing.
Article in American journal of translational research, 2025. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 1 paper.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
objectiveTo investigate the clinical significance of serum interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-12, IL-13, and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) levels in children with sleep-disordered breathing (SDB).
methodsA total of 107 children with SDB (research group) and 75 healthy children (control group) were enrolled. Serum cytokine levels were measured in all participants. Receiver operating characteristic curve analyses were used to evaluate diagnostic efficacy. Spearman correlation analysis was applied to assess the relationship between cytokine levels and disease severity, while Pearson correlation examined associations with sleep-related parameters, including microarousal index (ArI), apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), lowest arterial oxygen saturation (LSaO
resultsCompared with the control group, children in the SDB group exhibited significantly higher levels of IL-4, IL-13, TGF-β, ArI, and AHI, and lower levels of IL-12, LSaO
conclusionSerum levels of IL-4, IL-12, IL-13, and TGF-β may serve as potential biomarkers for the diagnosis, severity assessment, and therapeutic monitoring of SDB in children.
