1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

backgroundAntimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major public health concern. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) account for up to 85-90% of community-acquired cases. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted healthcare access and may have influenced resistance patterns. In this context, we retrospectively evaluated the antibiotic resistance dynamics of various bacterial strains isolated between 2019 and 2023 in a hospital unit; Methods: A total of 8217 clinical specimens (urine, wound secretions, sputum, pharyngeal exudate, nasal exudate, tracheal secretions, vaginal and cervical secretions, puncture fluids, purulent secretions, blood, ear secretions, eye secretions) were processed using standard microbiological techniques. Pathogen identification and susceptibility testing were performed with the VITEK 2 Compact system, following CLSI guidelines.

resultsFollowing the analysis of 8217 clinical samples collected over a five-year period (2019-2023), a total of 2900 microorganisms were isolated and identified. Among these, the most frequently encountered were
