1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Zrt-/Irt-like proteins (ZIPs), a family of divalent metal transporters, are crucial for maintaining the homeostasis of zinc, an essential trace element involved in numerous biological processes. While extensive research on the prototypical ZIP from Bordetella bronchiseptica (BbZIP) have suggested an elevator transport mechanism, the dynamic conformational changes during the transport cycle have not been thoroughly studied. In this work, we developed a sandwich ELISA using a custom anti-BbZIP monoclonal antibody to investigate the conformational change induced by the metal binding to the transport site. This was achieved by determining the accessibility of a cysteine residue introduced at a position exposed to the solvent only when the transporter adopts an outward-facing conformation. This assay allowed us to report the dissociation constants of BbZIP for Zn
