Efficacy of arthroscopic debridement combined with platelet-rich plasma injection for knee osteoarthritis: An updated systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Synthesis in The Journal of international medical research, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
ObjectiveThis study aimed to provide an updated assessment of the clinical efficacy and safety of arthroscopic debridement combined with platelet-rich plasma injection for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.MethodsOn 16 August 2025, we systematically searched multiple databases, including the Cochrane Library, Embase, Ovid Medline, PubMed, Web of Science, China Biology Medicine Disc, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database (VIPC), for randomized controlled trials evaluating the efficacy of arthroscopic debridement combined with platelet-rich plasma injection in the management of knee osteoarthritis. Outcome measures included the following: (a) clinical response rate; (b) visual analog scale score; (c) Lysholm score; (d) Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index score; and (e) adverse reactions. Data were recorded and analyzed using RevMan 5.4 software. The systematic review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, and the research protocol was registered on the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) platform (registration number: CRD420251127571).ResultsA total of 17 studies involving 1587 patients were included. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the control group, the treatment group demonstrated a statistically significant difference in the overall clinical response rate: odds ratio = 5.38; 95% confidence interval: 3.45, 8.38;
