Abstract
backgroundAnemia is a health problem that affects pregnant women both nationally and globally, particularly in relation to nutritional issues. One specific type of anemia is iron deficiency anemia, which affects approximately 60% of pregnant women, especially those with low and middle incomes. The large number of pregnancy anemia cases is still caused by a high level of noncompliance among pregnant women consuming iron tablets. This is largely due to forgetfulness, making this research important to conduct. To determine the effect of using an iron tablet drinking reminder application on compliance with taking iron tablets in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. MATERIALS AND
methodsThis research method utilizes an experimental research design, specifically employing a design pretest-posttest control group design. The participants involved in the study were mothers in their first and second trimesters of pregnancy in Bantul Regency, with a sample size of 84 respondents. The statistical tests employed nonparametric tests, namely, the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests.
resultsThe average compliance score for pregnant women in the intervention group increased, namely, the pretest score from 4.74 to 5.60 posttest score. The results of the analysis using the Wilcoxon statistical test showed a
conclusionThere is a difference in compliance scores between pregnant women who are monitored using an Android-based iron tablet drinking reminder application and pregnant women who do not use an iron tablet drinking reminder application.
