Comparative effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on photosynthetic pigments, oxidative metabolism, and yield in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) under semi-arid field conditions.
Article in BMC plant biology, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
This study was conducted under field conditions at Harran University's Osmanbey Campus. Experimental plots were established using a randomized block design. Parameters such as chlorophyll a and b, carotenoids, total soluble protein, carbohydrate content, and antioxidant components were evaluated across different fertilizer applications. The results indicated that groups treated with 300 kg ha⁻¹ DAP (Diammonium phosphate) fertilizer showed the highest values for chlorophyll and protein synthesis, whereas groups treated with 100 t ha⁻¹ farmyard manure achieved the highest results for carbohydrate and antioxidant production. While chemical fertilizers enriched in nitrogen positively influenced photosynthesis and protein biosynthesis, farmyard manure was found to enhance antioxidant defence mechanisms due to its organic component richness. Lipid peroxidation (MDA) levels remained relatively stable across treatments, though higher values were noted under intensive organic fertilization. The findings suggest that integrating organic amendments with strategic mineral fertilization optimizes cotton physiological health and productivity, offering a sustainable alternative to purely chemical regimes.
