Interventions to Improve Timely Detection and Diagnosis of Cancer Among the Adult Population: A Scoping Review.
Review in Healthcare (Basel, Switzerland), 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundThis scoping review aimed to identify and evaluate interventions to improve timely detection and diagnosis of lung, ovarian, stomach, and pancreatic cancers among adults. Understanding the effectiveness of these interventions is important for improving cancer care and patient outcomes.
methodA scoping review was conducted following the JBI framework and the PRISMA-ScR Checklist to identify empirical studies reporting interventions focused on lung, stomach, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers. A systematic literature search was performed in three databases (CINAHL, Embase, and Medline). Supplementary searches included citation tracking. English-language empirical studies examining interventions for early cancer detection in adults were included. Open Science Framework was used to register the scoping review protocol (accessed on 11 July 2024).
resultsOf 13,142 retrieved citations, 12 articles met the inclusion criteria. Studies were conducted in the UK (
conclusionThe review highlights the importance of integrated strategies to improve early cancer detection and diagnosis. Three intervention types were identified: awareness campaigns, educational programmes, and direct access to health services. Future interventions should consider longer campaign durations and tailored approaches for demographic groups, particularly populations in deprived areas, to improve effectiveness.
