Abstract

Background: The burden of atopic dermatitis (AD) in elderly is increasing recently, so it is necessary to deepen the recognition. Methods: We extracted prevalence, incidence and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for elderly-AD in Europe used Global Burden of Disease (GBD) and analyzed its related factors. Results: The burden of elderly-AD in Europe increased significantly from 1990 to 2021 (changed prevalence: 2.09%; changed DALYs: 11.58%) and females are higher than males. From the perspective of regional heterogeneity, the burden of elderly-AD in Western Europe is much heavier than other areas. Socio-demographic index (r = 0.497, Conclusion: The burden of elderly-AD is relatively high level in Europe with regional and gender disparities, and dietary habits are probably contributor.
