1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

objectiveThe role of Acteoside (ACT) in regulating ferroptosis of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells in diabetic retinopathy (DR) through the NRF2 pathway was investigated.

methodsAn in vitro DR model was constructed by inducing ARPE-19 cells with 33 mmol/L high glucose (HG), and a C57BL/6 mouse DR model was established via intraperitoneal injection of STZ and treated with different doses of ACT. Ferroptosis was assessed using CCK-8 assay, kits, BODIPY-C11 staining, and Western blot. NRF2 nuclear translocation was examined by immunofluorescence. Retinal damage was evaluated by HE staining.

resultsCompared to the NG group, the HG group showed significantly reduced ARPE-19 cell viability, increased intracellular Fe

conclusionACT alleviated HG-induced ROS accumulation and ferroptosis in ARPE-19 cells by activating the NRF2 pathway, and ACT upregulated NRF2 and inhibited ferroptosis in the retina of DR mice, thereby ameliorating retinal injury.
